I'm in Columbus, OH for the next few days for the 10th annual Ohio LinuxFest. It's an excellent FOSS conference and I've attended all but the first two OLF's. Back in 2008 I stepped up as a volunteer and currently run the registration desk and conference website (I'm an infrastructure guy, not a web designer, btw :) ). HP graciously loaned us some EliteBooks for the conference and I'm in the process of setting them up. The first one I worked on was an EliteBook 8770w and Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS installed without a hitch.
Twenty years ago today, Linus Torvalds posted to the comp.os.minix newsgroup about his new Free operating system, Linux.
Come celebrate 20 years of Linux at Ohio LinuxFest!
Earlier this month, for the first time in 4 years I unchecked the box "I want to attend this conference" in Penta, the DebConf conference management system. Despite this, I *do* want to attend DebConf11 but unfortunately due to work obligations I'm unable to attend this year. Hope to see you in Nicaragua!
It's less than 3 weeks until Ohio LinuxFest! Not only am I speaking at OLF, I'm also the volunteer coordinator. If you are interested in volunteering and know what you would like to do, drop me a line with details. If you are interested in volunteering and are up for anything, drop me a line. If you want to volunteer but can only spare a couple of hours, drop me a line!
Despite this being my 4th DebConf, I hadn't ever played Mao until yesterday evening. I had a great time, although I don't think I understand the game any more than I did as an outside observer over these past years :)
I'm looking forward to playing again - feel free to invite me to a game if you see me around DebConf10!
I've been fortunate enough to be able to attend every DebConf since DebConf 7 in Edinburgh, Scotland. This year is the first DebConf ever held in the USA - it'd be a shame if I couldn't attend since it's relatively close :) I'm extremely busy at work and thus won't be able to participate in DebCamp like I originally planned but I did get approval to go to DebConf10 itself so:
Hope to see you there!

I've had the pleasure of attending Ohio LinuxFest for the past four years and am looking forward to attending again on September 26. This year's theme is "40 Years of Unix." Each OLF I've attended has been a great experience and this year's OLF is sure to be excellent as well.
